Top Tracks: Kodak Black Reaps “Bodak Yellow” Success

Yesterday, Cardi B became the first solo female rapper to have a #1 single since Lauryn Hill did it in 1998. “Bodak Yellow” is a surprising success story for a number of reasons, one of which is its origins as a riff on Kodak Black’s breakout 2015 hit “No Flockin.” This week, a remix of “Bodak” featuring none other than Kodak himself appears, as well as a sequel to “No Flockin” entitled “Bodak Orange.”

Kodak is the only artist who appears more than once this week. New tracks barely missing out on charting this week include Russ’ “Wife You Up” (#11), Young Thug and Carnage’s “Liger” (#12), Dame D.O.L.L.A. and Lil Wayne’s “Run It Up” (#13), and Ty Dolla $ign’s “Message in a Bottle” (#15).
